Dear Friends,
If I had to pick out a theme for this week’s set of verses, it would have to be “God is with you,” how God repeatedly said that he was with the early Israelites, and how God continues to be with you. Remember, we are traveling through each book of the Bible during these weeks and months, using the verses from the “God’s Fingerprint” drawing that a member of our church recently gave me. This week, we go from Joshua to David in 5 of the historical books of the Old Testament:
“Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God will be with you.” Joshua 1:9
“March on, my soul; be strong! The Lord is with you, mighty warrior. Go in the strength you have. Am I not sending you? I will be with you.” Judges 5:21, 6:12, 14, 16
“May you be richly rewarded by the Lord.” Ruth 2:12
“Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” I Samuel 16:7
“Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture and from following the flock to be ruler over my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and now your house and your kingdom will endure forever.’” II Samuel 7:8-9, 16
Have a great week and hold onto this promise that God is with you!
Grace and Hope to you,
Pastor Duane
