Repent, Love and Be Transformed

Dear Friends,

This week, right after Easter, we have some of the most consequential verses in the Bible, I think.  They help us know what we must do to become followers of the Risen Christ: Repent, Love and Be Transformed.

“’Brothers, what shall we do?’  Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you.’” Acts 2:37-38

“Therefore, I urge you, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world.” Romans 12:1-2

“Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast.  It keeps no records of wrongs.  Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.”  1 Corinthians 13:4-8

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.  And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness.”  2 Corinthians 3:17-18

To remind you, we’re getting our verses from a drawing called “God’s Fingerprint” -- all of these verses that we’ve been looking at over the last few weeks have been hand written on this unique piece of art that looks like a giant fingerprint.  These verses have been helping to guide our thinking as we go through the books of the Bible, and I hope you will reflect especially on these this week as a guide for the Christian life.

Grace and Hope to you,
