Verses for Holy Week

Dear Friends,

This is the Tuesday of Holy Week, and I timed the verses we are reading from each book of the Bible, as presented in the drawing “God’s Fingerprint,” so that we would have verses from the Gospels this week. I hope the meaning of these verses, and the meaning of this week, resonates deeply in your heart and mind and spirit, and stays with you for many weeks to come.

“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33

“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and the gospel will save it.” Mark 8:34-35

“There they crucified him, along with the criminals – one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.’” Luke 23:33-34

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.’” John 14:6

I pray that these words might focus and direct you through this most important week of
the church year. See you on Easter!

Grace and Hope,
Pastor Duane
